Emmanuel Assembly of God
"What is this page and the madness behind it?"  Well, when you are the Webmaster and you are racking your brain and scouring the Internet for content for the website, you come across countless items that are interesting or inspirational but don't quite make sense for any particular web page.

So, this page has been a collection area for the various videos/quotes/etc that I have come across that were destined for the garbage bin.  So in a sense, this page is the website's junk drawer.  Maybe yard sale is a better term?

And now, after being coerced by Pastor to do so, I am making this page more readily accessible from the main menu.  Hopefully my ramblings below will give you a mix of inspiration and amusement.  Enjoy....but be ye warned....this is content that gets placed when I am up well past my bedtime trying to keep the cat off the keyboard.....

Recently, I have been surprised quite a bit by the varying degrees of "Christians" I have been finding online. What I mean is, folks who don't look "Christian" sometimes are and the folks who do look it sometimes aren't. Confusing? Let me give some examples.

Example #1 - the band below, David Crowder Band, is singing some old Christian songs in a bookstore. Yeah, they are Christian songs, but be honest....Do you question them based on the hair, goatee, and the way they jazzed up those old songs? You might wonder if they are singing just to sing and not so much out of worship, yes? Watch the video below and then the one on the right. The interview below gives you some insight into the leader of this band. Yes, he may have some crazy hair and play his music loud. But listen below and you will see that this guy is genuine about his desire to express his love and appreciation for who God is what He is doing in his life.

Example #2 - this band below, VOTA, may appear a bit too rock-and-roll as well. If you listen to the words, you may think that this is just another love song by another run-of-the-mill rock band. Well, watch this and then the interview on the right. Now, watch this interview below. Hear how the leader of this band is truly sincere with his love and respect for what God did by providing the Savior. You also learn what his lyrics were truly all about.

Example #3 - the video below is from Creed, who was popular a number of years ago. Listening to the words, you may see a seemingly strong reference to God and a dependence on him. A lot of people think that this band is a Christian band playing in the mainstream secular circuit. Watch the video and then read the interview on the right. Ok, now read the interview snippet below that I got from the Las Vegas Sun. You find out pretty quick that these fellas were far from singing about God and His Grace and Mercy. They were simply selling albums. Looks are deceiving, yes?

Stapp’s faith has also played a big part in his transformation, though he said that aspect of his life is separate from what Creed represents.
“We were never a Christian band with an agenda to make people believe in something we did,” he said. “In fact, (Creed drummer) Scott Phillips, at one point, was an atheist.”
“Truly, we’re just a rock band and live life as such,” he concluded.

While he resents being called a born-again Christian, Stapp is fine with his born-again rocker status.

So, my summary is this - be careful who you lend your ear to. The strange looking or funny smelling person may be a God-fearing born again believer while the polished and pretty might be as dead as can be on the inside.
