Nursing Home Ministry

The Nursing Home Ministry has been in existence since 1992. It involves ministry
to the residents at Good Shepherd
and Cedarbrook.
The ministry is held on the fourth
Sunday of each month at 2:00pm. During this time, two teams (one at each facility)
conduct services at the facilities for the residents.
There are many different areas
of ministry that each team member provides:
- Transporting residents to the service
- Praying for residents during the service
- Being a friend to a resident by sitting
with him/her during the service
- Distributing hymn books
- Opening the service
by reading Scripture
- Leading the service in prayer
- Sharing a message
- Performing
a musical selection
Any member of Emmanuel who is interested in participating in
this ministry is encouraged to contact Gloria Horn or show up at the nursing home
of choice by 1:30pm on the day of the service.
